Crowdsignal Forms plugin gives you access to the Poll block, so you can create and edit a poll directly inside the WordPress block editor, instead of creating the poll on the Crowdsignal site and then embedding it on your site.
Getting Started
First, you’ll need to install the Crowdsignal Forms plugin on your WordPress site. Then you’ll be ready to add your first Poll block.
- Create a new post in the WordPress editor. Please note that the Poll block can currently only be added to posts, not pages.
- Click the ( + ) sign, or initiate the block search by typing / and search for “poll.”

Once the Poll block is added, you can add a title, a note (for example, a description or a prompt), and potential answers.

Here’s a real example of a poll created with the Poll block:
Block Settings
You will find additional block settings in the right sidebar when you click on the block.

Styles
Choose a display style for your Poll block.
- Default: Display the poll in a list style, which shows radio dials that your audience can click on to choose an option.
- Buttons: Use buttons for your Poll block.

Results
- View results: View and manage the results of your poll in the Results section. Click the View results button to access the results and analysis in your Crowdsignal account.
- Title of the poll block: Update the question/title of your Poll block.

Settings
Status:

- Closed after: Choose a time and date in the future to set as a deadline for this poll. After this date, the poll will automatically close and people won’t have the option to vote anymore.
- Closed: Set the poll as closed if you don’t want any more votes to be submitted.
When poll is closed:
- Show results: Show the options available in the poll along with the results of how people voted.
- Show poll with “Closed” banner”: Show the poll with a banner in the bottom that says the poll is closed.
- Hide poll: Remove the poll from the page completely.

Block Styling
Use the color picker to customize the Text, Background, and Border colors for your poll.
Select colors that will make the poll stand out and make sure to find a nice contrast for readability purposes. Accessibility parameters are built into the new editor to warn you when the text may become illegible for persons with reading impairments.
- Choose Font: Click on the dropdown to select a font to use for Poll block.
- Width: Set a percentage for the width of your Poll block.
- Border Thickness: Set a custom value for the thickness of your Poll block border.
- Corner Radius: Radius allows you to give your Poll block borders a rounded appearance. Setting the radius to 0 means the block has sharp edges.
- Drop Shadow: Toggle this option to give your block more depth with the appearance of shadows and highlights.
- Reset: Click this button to undo any custom settings you added to the Poll block.

Button Styling
Use the color picker to customize the Text and Background colors for the submit button of your Poll block.
