Right-to-left Language Support for Polls
We’re pleased to announce a great new enhancement to polls. We’ve deployed a new feature that allows you to create polls that support right-to-left languages such as Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu, and Yiddish just to name a few. The WordPress Polldaddy plugin has been updated with RTL language support as well. Once you’ve created your poll, it’s very easy to apply right-to-left alignment as a custom poll style. Let’s learn how.
Once you create your poll, hover over the poll and click Edit:
Under Poll Style, select Custom, and Create New:
Give your custom style a name, then click on the Force RTL button:
Notice that the poll preview immediately shows a sample poll in right-to-left formatting. (Note this is a sample only, not the Hebrew poll we’re working on.)
The next step is to assign your custom style to your poll. Return to your poll in your dashboard. Hover over the title of your poll and click on Edit. Scroll down to the Poll Style area. Select Custom, and from the dropdown menu, select the name of the poll style you just created:
Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue, Update Poll button for your changes to take effect. Now you’re ready to embed your poll and share it with the world!
Here’s our poll, which asks, “What’s your favorite color?” in Hebrew. The answer options are: red, blue, or beige. Additionally, participants can select the Other option and type in their own answer.
