If you have a Premium or higher subscription, you can export your poll, survey, quiz, or rating data to Excel, Google Docs, CSV, XML, and/or PDF formats. The process to export data is the same for polls, surveys, quizzes, and ratings.
The steps below detail the process for a poll, but the process is the same no matter which element you’d like to export.
Hover over the title of the poll in your dashboard and click View Results:
Then, click Export:
When you click Export, you’ll see a drop-down with five export options:
Export to PDF to get a report which you can view, print, and share as needed. Selecting this option creates a PDF in your current browser window that you can then save to your computer.
This is the best option to use if you’d like to export your data into Excel. We support Microsoft Excel version 97 and up.
This method allows you to securely upload your data directly into a Google Docs account. Click on the “Google Docs” export option:
When your data is ready, you’ll receive an email with a link to your data in Google Docs:
You can click the link to open a spreadsheet in Google Docs with your poll data:
You can also export data from Crowdsignal as an Excel or CSV file, and import those files into Google Docs if you like.
The CSV export option offers a more generic export format that has greater compatibility with other software packages. All data exported from Crowdsignal is encoded as UTF-8. If your data contains non-English characters, then you may experience encoding problems if you double-click the file in Excel to open it. To be able to import the file properly, you should import the CSV file using the import tool.
Then ensure that the UTF-8 encoding and delimited file type options are selected.
You then need to select the comma as a delimiter.
The data preview should show separate columns.
Use this if you wish to import your data using another tool.
Exported poll data will sometimes have rows containing the value “n/a”. This usually happens when votes were cast before a poll was edited and answers removed. Instead of removing the votes the export file contains them giving you some idea of activity before the poll was edited.
