The Rating Scale question type is similar to the Multiple Choice type, but it’s presented as a horizontal set of options for your visitors to choose from.
You can customize the rating labels to your liking and are not restricted to numbers. Regardless of the labels, the Rating Scale will retain a hidden numeric value for the ratings which go from 1 to 5 or 10 (depending on the selected preset). This makes for measurable results and allows for further analysis shall you decide to export a report.
Presets
The Rating Scale has two presets of 5 and 10 rating scales:
When you choose one of the presets, the labels get reset with a sequence from 1 to the preset amount you selected. You can customize the labels after selecting the preset.
Limitations
The Rating Scale makes for average sums and calculations, so once it has received answers, the editor will not allow you to change the preset from 5 to 10 or vice versa. This is to preserve the results reliability and ensure you don’t lose any of your collected data.
